Description
Well, this one was a bit harder to put together. I am a huge fan of mythology and seeing this theme for Zutara week made me feel that I had to find actual mythology which I could use. It took me hours to find just the right myth.
Basically, Katara is representhing a Celtic goddess by the name of Airmid. Aermid (yes, her name is spelled several different ways) was a healing goddess who, along with her father and brother (who have a lot more stories than she does) protected a well which could heal. Unfortunately, she wasn't an official water goddess, but with her connection to the well, it was close enough. I did take some liberties, though...which I hope don't upset anyone who's a real myth buff. That blue blob between her hand and the well is water...so basically, I gave a Celtic goddess water-bending abilities... Zuko is just a random guy who's come along hoping that Katara/Airmid will heal a wound of some sort of his...
I do believe that this is the most detailed pic I've done for Zutara Week...including for the rest of the week. Like I said, I had a lot of research to do. Although I'm not sure if the house and well are accurate, but oh well, I tried.
Progress report: Yes, I've completed all of my submissions for the rest of the week. Now my hands can rest. Although I have a feeling I won't be drawing Zutara again for a while.
Please give me a critique or comment for this one if you fave or even if you just really feel the need to say something. It had to be the toughest one I've done for the week and I'd love some feedback.
Katara and Zuko belong to Bryke, Viacom, etc and Aermid belongs to Celtic mythology.
